T.W.I.S.T. - (Theater Works in String Theory)
Think outside the box! So much of our human communication and connection these days is virtual. We read and interpret our conversations with others through the screen. We watch every possible scenario emerge from saturated media platforms. Where do our own ideas fit in? Here's an opportunity for kids to embrace real communication – with each other, and in expressing ideas to a live audience – through the wonderfully magical world of theater. Students between 5th and 10th grade will explore improvisational games, learn the primary elements of theatrical work, and bring their own talents to bear in ensemble exercises and the exciting creation of works-in-progress. Each quarter students will use writing, movement and speech to connect with each other to present new ideas at our String Theory Coffee Houses. Classes are Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 to 4:30 here at String Theory. East Lyme students may take the bus from the Middle School or walk across the street from the high school directly to the studio after school.
