About String Theory School of Music

Music Education

Chris and Amy Leigh founded String Theory School of Music in 2007 as a family owned and operated business.  Chris is a virtuoso guitarist/performer and has been an instructor for 30 years. Amy is a life long educator who teaches Social Studies at a local high school in addition to managing String Theory. The couple built a school that is dedicated to cutting edge individualized instruction that puts the student first.  Modern and progressive in their educational and musical perspectives, they pursue excellence in a casual and supportive environment.  The embodiment of their philosophy is the Seasonal Coffee House performance.  This performance opportunity along with many others scheduled throughout the year focuses on giving students more opportunities to perform under less intense circumstances than traditional "recital" models. When it comes to performance, quantity equals quality.  The more you perform, the easier it gets.  Chris, Amy, and their daughter Charlotte are all students of the school, learning new instruments and songs all the time.  Life long learning is key to their family and their music school.  Stop by and check out the school to meet the Leighs and see why String Theory continues to be the most progressive place to learn the music you love.
